Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a
detail-oriented Events Assistant to support the Marketing department’s event
function and special initiatives. In addition to effectively executing a range
of tasks, the ideal candidate will have a strong desire to grow in the
position, be proactive in support of the team, contribute ideas, and anticipate
any obstacles or opportunities; acting with a sense of urgency and personal
responsibility. This position reports to the Firmwide Events Manager and the
Client Events Manager and will be based in the Philadelphia office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating event budget templates, researching event venues and vendors within defined event design and scope, managing the administrative support for all firm-wide and client development events (in excess of 200 events annually), assisting with firm and practice group sponsorship deliverables and maintaining the department’s central library of event marketing collateral.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent
communication skills, stellar interpersonal skills and be a collaborative team
player with strong service orientation and work ethic. The incumbent will use sound judgment and
analytical skills to identify solutions to challenges as they arise, and will
possess the ability to synthesize and communicate complex subjects clearly and

degree; 1-2 years’ work experience; corporate or professional services
experience a plus; excellent writing and editing skills with knowledge of
grammar, style, and spelling; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint and the ability to work overtime on occasion.
