Meetings Enablement Senior Manager

Position Summary :

In this role, you will drive strategy and implementation of global processes designed to improve the operational efficiency of meetings at BCG while lowering cost and risk. You will partner with other internal departments (Procurement, BSG, Finance and others) to manage a global network of suppliers ensuring vendors and other trained resources are available to manage requested services at all times. You will ensure technology needs are supported appropriately by internal business partners and available to meet the ongoing needs of BCG on a global basis and effectively manage a global team of meeting professionals to optimize service delivery and value creation.
 
This roll will manage the meetings portal, development of global meeting training, innovation and product development, maintain globally competitive vendors relations (especially in the hotel industry), manage delivery of special projects designed to improve services delivery, maintain a global network of GDPR and service compliant hotels and generally support the delivery of meeting services to all GMS customers.
 
You will have a working knowledge the meetings technology space and trends, project management, agile methodology and be experienced managing a global and culturally diverse team.
 
You will report to the Global Meeting Services Director and will serve as the primary contact for all meeting support functions across the firm. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure front line personnel have world class tools and support to meeting the needs of GMS customers
 
You will have the opportunity to work with local, regional and global leadership to set and drive our meetings enablement strategy requiring building key relationships both internally and externally, and developing an internal culture, commitment and capability for excellence in service delivery.
 
You will also need to be independent and self-directed and be comfortable and effective working on a virtual team within a matrix reporting relationship.

 

 

*Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and implements policies related to event management and meetings technology

  • Participate in the development of global meeting standards, procedures and protocols

  • Research and deploy technology solutions and innovative techniques to deliver service and value to GMS customers

  • Coordinate with other Operations Services departments to leverage BCG’s market strengths in a cost effective manner

  • Collaborate with our Risk, Insurance and Legal functions to establish operating protocols at the local, regional and global level.

  • Promote and engage in cross-functional interfaces, support, and program development between Meeting Services and functions such as travel, meetings, IT, HR, office operations etc.

  • Develop and maintain network and relationships with key meetings industry leaders and contacts  

  • Develop and deliver trainings for BCG's event organizers across the globe 

Job Responsibilities Continued :

*Basic Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ or more years business experience with a focus on technology, hospitality, agile methodology and online training with a major global corporation, preferably a professional services firm or similar industry

  • Must have global people management experience including experience managing service delivery in a diverse cultural and legal environment.  Experience in developing and directing a team is especially important.

  • Manage a team of 10+ meeting professionals located in New Delhi, Madrid, Munich, Atlanta and Boston

  • Strong change management experience in a global enterprise

  • Experience and a proven track record in working across cultural boundaries in a complex matrix structured organization

  • ~10-20% travel will be required.
