Virtual Account Executive

**This is a virtual, work from home position** 

The Account Executive for BCD M&E is the primary relationship manager for event customers and is responsible for account retention and account growth. Additionally, the Account Executive is accountable for securing additional business in alignment with company and individual target revenue goals.

Job Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for account acquisition, retention & growth
  • Thorough understanding of customer business issues and opportunities so that accounts can be developed to their full potential
  • Understanding of the basic principles of incentives and events and their impact on business success
  • Understanding of destinations, hotels and suppliers that can support customer programs
  • Guide, mentor & support internal teams to ensure that client service expectations are met and adhered to
  • Oversee program pricing and margins to ensure that they meet acceptable profit guidelines
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified sales opportunities

Account Retention & Growth

  • Responsible for managing the relationship with existing accounts and ensure that they maintain, renew and grow their business with BCD M&E
  • Responsible for driving the strategy for the development of proposals, presentations, contracts and other sale/marketing-related lateral materials for current and prospective accounts
  • Responsible for constructing solutions and pricing the optimize and comply with BCD M&E's profitability goals.
  • Effectively qualify all business opportunities to ensure they are within business guidelines and that internal support team resources are efficiently deployed
  • Conduct regular meetings with account personnel to discuss operations and opportunities
  • Maintain a good working relationship with key customer contacts, keeping accounts appraised of travel trends and updates within the industry
  • Identify competitive threats and emerging problems and offer swift solutions to preserve the integrity of relationships
  • Assess opportunities to provide additional services (within Core Competencies) that will support current programs and initiatives and grow account volume
  • Understand the market and business issues associated with accounts so as to best react to account needs
  • Meet individual annual adjusted gross revenue sales objectives
  • Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlines herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the position.

New Account Development

  • Participate in strategic planning and account development meetings to ensure a solid pipeline of leads and new target accounts
  • Execute account development plans -- providing timely updates to leadership
  • Participate in and plan sales and marketing efforts that generate potential customer/sales leads
  • Effectively qualify new business opportunities to ensure they are within business guidelines and that internal support team resources are efficiently deployed
  • Meet or exceed individual annual adjusted gross revenue sales objectives
  • Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlines herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the position.

Administration

  • Ensures client and prospective client databases are maintained and key prospects are contacted
  • regularly
  • Delivers, on a monthly basis, new prospect, sold account, lost bid, and no bid reports to Sales Management via the SalesForce.com CRM tool.
  • Adhere to BCD M&E's T&E policy and remain within outlined budget eters.
  • Review and monitor monthly financial targets -- make recommendations for adjustments as necessary

Related Experience

  • Knowledge of travel and meeting & incentives industries and supporting technologies.
  • Ability to lead - develop teamwork and colaboration, and achieve results through others
  • Ability to interact with all levels of customers -- develop relationships, maintain trust and loyalty
  • Ability to sell company services, products, and preferred vendors
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including public speaking and presentations.
